Dr Victor Chen is an Otago graduate who completed Basic Physician Training in NZ, Cardiology Advanced Training in Queensland at Gold Coast Hospital and the Prince Charles Hospital. He was Staff Specialist at Gold Coast Hospital after his FRACP before undertaking an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Mt Sinai Hospital New York USA. Prior to returning to Gold Coast mid 2013 he was Senior Clinical Lecturer in Medicine at the University of Otago and full time Interventional Cardiologist for 7 years at a tertiary level training hospital as well as serving a period as Director of Physician Training in Dunedin Hospital for the RACP.
He is now available on the Gold Coast for consultation on all aspects of general cardiology, outpatient cardiology testing; also inpatient care, chest pain assessment, acute coronary syndromes, interventional cardiology procedures if required.
He has admission rights and procedural credentialing for all Gold Coast private hospitals as well as undertaking Catheter Lab VMO sessions for the Gold Coast University Hospital and rostered emergency call for ST elevation myocardial infarction.
