I recieved specialist training in general medicine, diabetes and endocrinology in the UK. After completing my training I moved to Australia where I worked for 25 years, first in Community Endocrine practice then at John Hunter teaching hospital in Newcastle where I became Area Director of Diabetes Services. I moved to the University ofToronto Canada in 2007 where I became head of the Divison of Endocrinology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre before returning to Australia in 2017 to spend more time with my family. I am passionate about improving diabetes care for all and I have conducted research to improve health care delivery especially for those with Type 1 diabetes transitioning from paediatric to adult care and women with diabetes in pregnancy, however I have experience in all types of endocrinology including thyroid adrenal and pituitary problems.
