Catherine completed medical school at the University of Otago in Dunedin before embarking on paediatric training at Christchurch Hospital. It was here she gained extensive experience in a variety of paediatric subspecialties, including neurology and epilepsy, respiratory diseases, gastroenterology as well as general paediatrics. She also worked at the busy Christchurch Women's Hospital where she was able to develop all the necessary skills to care for newborn babies of all gestation. Following a move to Brisbane, Catherine's experience was broadened to include work in paediatric intensive care and child protection before completing her general paediatric training in Mackay and Alice Springs.

Other interests:

Catherine is a keen runner and fits it in around the care of her three young daughters. She is married to Dr Dylan Wilson.
