After finishing medical school and internship at hospitals around Cardiff, Wales, Dr Wilson developed an interest in paediatric medicine. He commenced paediatric specialisation at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend and then Birmingham Children’s Hospital (UK) where he developed expertise in nephrology, neonatology and cardiology. This was by followed a year at Christchurch Hospital in New Zealand where he worked in general paediatrics and neonates.
Dr Wilson completed advanced training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane (working in intensive care, neonatal intensive care and with metabolic conditions), in Mackay and Alice Springs.

Other interests:
Dr Wilson enjoys spending time with his wife and three young daughters. He also enjoys playing and watching all kinds of sport, with rugby and cricket predominating. In 2013, he is particularly looking forward to a Lions tour and back-to-back Ashes wins for England. He is married to Dr Catherine Stewart.
